Cooking Temperatures

Notes about cooking temperatures and timings

Make sure you adjust your cooking temperatures and timings

Make sure you adjust your cooking temperatures and timings!

Unless otherwise stated all the timings and temperatures on this site are based on a “modern” fan-assisted oven (unlike the oven in the picture!) with the temperature given in Celsius. See the conversion chart below for some approximate conversions from Celsius to Fahrenheit or Gas Marks.

As a general rule of thumb for conventional (non fan-assisted) ovens either:

  1. Add 20-30 degrees Celsius (approximately 50 degrees Fahrenheit) with the same timings or,
  2. Add extra time with the same temperature (approximately 10 minutes for every hour of cooking).

All ovens are slightly different and so some adjustments may be necessary based on your own appliance.
